Every question you ever had about link building, search engine marketing
and content marketing..... Answered!

You need to get a fixed number of links for each page

There is a long-standing debate in SEO about whether there’s a “magic number” of links for any specific page. As with so many complex SEO issues, there isn’t a definite answer to this. As long as you’re naturally building links for your page, you’re on the right track. Natural link building involves authentically earned links from authoritative websites relevant to your niche.

Some experts recommend as high as 100 links per page, while others point out you can see an improvement in rankings from even a dozen relevant backlinks. It all comes down to your link profile.

But if you think your work ends once a link is live, you are off-track. Ask any smart SEO expert, and they’ll tell you that your links are not permanent. So you must pay attention to existing links in case anything happens to them. Remember: you’re in this for the long haul.

P.S. The more links a page has, the less PageRank each of those links passes. According to Matt Cutts, the former head of the web spam team at Google,  you’re dividing the PageRank of that page between hundreds of links, so each link is only going to pass along a minuscule amount of PageRank anyway.
